Joseph G. LaCapra, Esq.
As a partner in LaCapra, Salz & Kowalski,
Joseph G. LaCapra, Esq., focuses his law practice in several fields,
including commercial transactions and litigation, wills, trusts and
estates, family law, criminal law, and personal injury.
In addition to his legal experience, Mr. LaCapra
is also a Certified Public Accountant and partner in the firm of
Golub, LaCapra, Wilson & DeTiberiis,
LLP, located in Port Jefferson, New York. His accounting specialties
include tax compliance reporting, financial reporting, financial
planning, and estate planning.
Mr. LaCapra received his Bachelor of Science degree from C. W. Post
Center, a division of Long Island University. He holds a Masters
of Business Administration degree from Adelphi University. He received
his Juris Doctor degree from Touro Law School. He is admitted to
practice law in the States of New York and Connecticut.
Steven A Salz, Esq.
Steven A. Salz, Esq. handles all aspects of family law matters, real estate law, trusts and estates, commercial litigation, and personal injury matters. He is a graduate of SUNY Empire State College and Touro Law School. Mr. Salz is admitted to practice law in New York and New Jersey.
Edward S. Kowalski, Esq.
Edward Kowalski has a general practice that includes real estate, employment law, trusts and estates, wills, estate planning, and other areas.
He has written extensively on legal topics including employment law, tax law, and human resources-related immigration matters.
During the 1990’s he co-founded an Internet startup-company that eventually became part of LexisNexis®.
He has also been an adjunct professor of computer technology for more than 15 years, lecturing on computer programming languages, database design,
web page programming, and information technology.
Mr. Kowalski received a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. John's University and a Juris Doctor degree from St. John's University School of Law.
He is admitted to practice in New York State, and the Southern and Eastern Federal District Courts of New York.
Denise Altruda, PLS
Denise Altruda is a seasoned paralegal with over 25 years in
the legal and business community. She is a devoted professional dedicated
to assisting the needs of every client.
Her background includes real estate, matrimonial and family law,
civil and commercial litigation, and personal injury matters. She
continually updates her skills by attending legal education courses
held at the Suffolk Academy of Law and through her seminars at NALS
of Suffolk County, NALS of New York and NALS...the association for
legal professionals in Tulsa, OK.
Ms. Altruda attended Queens College and obtained her PLS certification
in 2001. She was named the Member of the Year of NALS of New York
in 2003 and received the Award of Excellence in 2000 by her peers
at NALS of Suffolk County. She has received many other accolades
for her participation and assistance in legal education conferences
and has given seminars on preparing probate and administration petitions
for Surrogate’s Court to other legal assistants on Long Island.
Ms. Altruda has contributed her skills as an editor to Lexis/Nexis by
updating the handbook of legal forms and procedures.
Cheryll Adams joined the firm in 2012. She is a paralegal with over 12 years of legal experience, and specializes in residential and commercial real estate. She received a Master of Science degree from Long Island University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from St. Joseph’s College. Ms. Adams is an active member within her community and donates her time to various organizations.
